Friday, August 22. Bogota, C.D. @SomosAGROSAVIA. After a public process, the Board of Directors voted and, on Friday, August 22, 2025, by majority, elected Dr. Miguel Serrano López as the new Executive Director of AGROSAVIA. The decision has the endorsement of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Martha Carvajalino, as established in the statutes.
Dr. Serrano is an Agronomic Engineer and holds a Ph.D. in economic sciences from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, with extensive experience in research, project management, and international cooperation. He has more than ten years of experience in academic and scientific leadership.
This selection process began during an Extraordinary Board of Directors meeting of Agrosavia on May 31, 2025, when the firm Acierta SAS was appointed as the head-hunter in charge of conducting the selection process.
The call for applications was broadcasted through the institutional channels of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, AGROSAVIA, and on social media, which enabled the application of nearly 300 candidates. According to the profile approved by the Board of Directors, Acierta SAS carried out the corresponding tests and validations, presenting a list of 10 candidates who were interviewed by the full Board.
With this appointment, AGROSAVIA reaffirms its commitment to strengthening research, technological development, and agricultural innovation in the country, for the benefit of producers and the comprehensive rural development of Colombia.
