Bogotá, Capital District. July 17, 2025. As part of the 25th edition of AGROEXPO, one of the most important agricultural events in Latin America, AGROSAVIA officially presented its new biofertilizer TriEstimul—an environmentally sustainable, cost-effective, and efficient alternative for plant nutrition across a wide range of agricultural crops.
TriEstimul is designed for crops such as corn, oats, barley, millet, wheat, quinoa, amaranth, sorghum, pastures and forages, as well as vegetables such as cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and other cole crops.
Developed from a consortium of three native microbial strains from Colombia, this biofertilizer acts as a natural biostimulant, optimizing the physiological development of plants, especially under environmental stress conditions such as water scarcity or low nutrient availability in the soil.
“Today we are concluding a research process that has taken a little over ten years. That’s how research is—you can’t achieve results in five years or less, as we might wish. Research is often a lengthy process, but it must be rigorous. Today we conclude this phase, but we begin another that is equally important and challenging: AGROSAVIA and its team now have the task of ensuring that TriEstimul reaches all agricultural producers across the country,” emphasized Ariel Hurtado, Executive Director of AGROSAVIA, during the presentation.

Key Benefits of TriEstimul:
- Reduces the use of chemical fertilizers (especially nitrogen and phosphorus-based) without affecting yield.
- Improves nutrient absorption, enhancing root and vegetative growth.
- Increases crop tolerance to water, heat, and salt stress.
- Contributes to better harvest quality by improving size, firmness, post-harvest shelf life, and nutritional content.
- Promotes soil health by stimulating its microbiota and improving soil structure.
Currently, AGROSAVIA is finalizing a production and commercialization agreement with the company FORBIO COLOMBIA S.A.S., which will allow the bio-input to be scaled and made accessible to small, medium, and large producers throughout the country.
Visitors to AGROEXPO 2025 were able to learn more about TriEstimul in South Connector Hall No. 3, where the technical presentation took place starting at 10:00 a.m. The results of the evaluations were shared, and discussions on biofertilization in Colombia were held.
