AGROSAVIA presents advances in organic-mineral fertilizers for sustainable poultry farming at SISAV 2025

• At the International Symposium on Poultry Sustainability – SISAV, AGROSAVIA shared the progress made in organic-mineral fertilizers that promote the use of poultry byproducts and contribute to the sector’s sustainability and circular economy.

Bogotá D.C., September 17, 2025. Germán Estrada Bonilla, Ph.D. Associate Researcher of the Sustainable Agricultural Systems Research Group at the Tibaitatá Research Center, actively participated in the International Symposium on Poultry Sustainability – SISAV, organized by FENAVI and FONAV, a high-level space aimed at discussing challenges and solutions for sustainable poultry production in Colombia.

During the event, he presented the conference entitled “Development of Organic-Mineral Fertilizers for Poultry Farming”, where he highlighted AGROSAVIA’s progress in leveraging organic byproducts generated by the poultry sector to formulate innovative, sustainable, and highly efficient fertilizers. These developments enable nutrient cycling, reduce the use of chemical inputs, and mitigate environmental impacts such as greenhouse gas emissions, thus contributing to the transition toward a circular economy in poultry farming.

He also participated as a panelist in the session “Research Results in the Poultry Sector on Circular Economy and Climate Change,” where he emphasized AGROSAVIA’s strategic role in generating applied knowledge and scaling up technologies aimed at making poultry farming more sustainable, resilient, and competitive.
