Pasto, Nariño. November 5, 2025. Within the framework of the Colombian-German Agroecology Project, in which the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Colombia and the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Germany cooperate, producers in agroecological transition and the Obonuco Research Center of AGROSAVIA held, at the end of last month, an information feedback event with the community of the district of Gualmatán, municipality of Pasto.
The purpose of the meeting was to share the progress of the research process carried out over the past year, together with the producers of the district, who have been key actors in the search for ecological alternatives to manage clubroot disease (Plasmodiophora brassicae). This disease limits the productivity of vegetable crops in this region of the country.
The event included different demonstration stations, in which the producers of the district and AGROSAVIA’s researchers presented the results of the trials conducted, the agroecological practices evaluated, and the knowledge collectively built.
This participatory research exercise allowed strengthening the exchange of knowledge, promoting the use of sustainable practices, and reaffirming the community’s commitment to clean and resilient production in the face of phytosanitary and environmental challenges.
Through this type of activity, AGROSAVIA continues to consolidate its commitment to agricultural innovation, the sustainability of production systems, and collaboration with rural communities of the department and institutional actors of Nariño.
