Bogotá D.C., July 24, 2026. Corporación colombiana de investigación agropecuaria – AGROSAVIA informs the public that it welcomes the announcement made by the elected President Abelardo de la Espriella regarding the establishment of the Integrated Agricultural Administrative Center in Turipaná. This initiative seeks to transform AGROSAVIA’s Turipaná Research and Technology Transfer Center, located in Cereté, Córdoba, into a strategic hub for integrating public services, research, innovation, and technological development to support Colombia’s agricultural sector.
AGROSAVIA recognizes the importance of all efforts aimed at strengthening comprehensive support for producers, smallholder farmers, livestock producers, fishers, and agribusiness entrepreneurs, as well as to enhance coordination among institutions in the agricultural sector. In this regard, the Corporation is willing to provide technical and institutional cooperation in assessing, planning, and potentially implementing this initiative, while ensuring the continuity of its core mission of research, innovation, and technology transfer for the sustainable development of Colombian agriculture.
The Turipaná Research and Technology Transfer Center is one of the country's most significant scientific assets for the agricultural development of the Caribbean region. For more than six decades, it has contributed to knowledge generation, genetic breeding, conservation of biological resources, animal and crop production, and the transfer of technological innovations to Colombian producers.
Likewise, AGROSAVIA reaffirms that it operates under the principles of transparency, integrity, legality, and accountability in the management of public resources and conducts its activities in accordance with the highest standards of institutional integrity.
For this reason, the Corporation states that it remains fully prepared and willing to facilitate any review, verification, audit, and oversight actions the competent authorities may deem necessary, both at its Headquarters and at each of its Research and Technology Transfer Centers throughout the country, as it has consistently done. These actions are essential to safeguarding public trust and to reaffirming that the Corporation’s projects, programs, investments, and assets are managed in full compliance with the law and in the public interest.
Furthermore, AGROSAVIA expresses its full willingness to collaborate with the incoming National Government in establishing coordinated efforts and to address any questions or concerns related to its institutional management by providing the information and support required within the framework of the law and the principles of transparency that guide its work.
The Corporation believes that strengthening Colombia’s agricultural sector requires strong institutions that are open to public scrutiny and firmly committed to efficiency, science, and innovation to serve the country’s producers.
AGROSAVIA will continue to work with technical excellence, responsibility, and a strong commitment to public service to contribute to rural development, food security, and the competitiveness of Colombian agriculture.
