Experiences that Educate and Transform the Countryside: The Sustainability Sowing Fair and ExpoAGROSAVIA 2025 Arrive in Madrid

Madrid, Cundinamarca. July 25, 2025. As part of the national strategy to bring science closer to rural areas and connect small, medium, and large producers across the country with products, services, and research projects aimed at driving a more sustainable agriculture, AGROSAVIA and the Mayor’s Office of Madrid are joining forces to offer an unprecedented educational, hands-on, and technological experience during the upcoming edition of the Sustainability Sowing Fair and ExpoAGROSAVIA 2025.

This event, which will take place on July 26 and 27 at the plaza of the municipal library, is more than just a fair: it is a space that connects science, agriculture, and the community, designed to bring attendees closer to the latest innovations in Colombia’s agricultural sector developed by the Corporation.

ExpoAGROSAVIA has become the flagship fair of Colombian agriculture, with more than 18,000 total attendees over 11 editions and over 1,000 visitors in the previous edition. The event gathers producers, companies, public entities, and academic institutions, creating strategic spaces for innovation, business, and technology transfer.

“ExpoAGROSAVIA is more than an event; it’s a meeting point between scientific knowledge and local wisdom. These experiential moments allow innovation to reach the heart of Colombian rural life, promoting sustainable practices, connecting generations, and sowing the seeds of the future,” says Ariel Hurtado, Executive Director of AGROSAVIA.

Thanks to the strong interinstitutional alliance for this edition, AGROSAVIA contributes its scientific infrastructure, technical knowledge, and human talent, while the Mayor’s Office of Madrid supports with logistics, institutional coordination, and personnel. This synergy has enabled the development of an agenda aimed at addressing the current challenges of Colombian agriculture, with a participatory, sustainable, and future-oriented approach.

Education and Technology Serving Agriculture: In the Main Auditorium of the Library, free technical talks will be offered to producers, entrepreneurs, researchers, and innovators.

On Saturday, July 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., topics will include green businesses, circular economy, integrated management of horticultural crops, and agroclimatology. On Sunday, July 27, there will be a plenary session at 10:00 a.m. on technology and Artificial Intelligence for the agri-business sector, in collaboration with La Salle University.
