Pasto, Nariño. December 1, 2025. Within the framework of the Sustainable Food Systems Intelligence – Science-Policy Interface (SASi-SPi) project, the fourth working meeting was held with strategic actors from the territory, consolidating a participatory and inclusive space aimed at transforming food production and consumption systems in the central area of the department of Nariño.
The initiative, developed through an alliance between AGROSAVIA, FAO, CIRAD, and AGRINATURA, is financially supported by the European Union and seeks to strengthen local capacities through technical, scientific, and strategic assistance. This collaborative effort drives the construction of more sustainable, equitable, and resilient food systems, contributing to food security and community well-being in Nariño.
The meeting held last November aimed to analyze and complement, together with actors and institutions from the territory, the Investment Plan prepared by FAO, a fundamental input for the collective construction of the Territorial Food System Action Plan. Likewise, work was carried out to identify the governance scheme that will enable the management, coordination, and monitoring of the plan, ensuring its effective implementation in the municipalities within the area of influence.
As a result of the session, the action lines of the food system were strengthened by integrating contributions from national, departmental, and municipal actors. Likewise, key governance agreements were reached to consolidate coordination mechanisms that ensure the fulfillment and monitoring of this collaboratively developed plan.
This fourth meeting represents a significant step toward consolidating a territorial roadmap to promote the transition to sustainable food systems in central Nariño, reaffirming institutional and community commitment.
