Institución Educativa Puerto Manrique in Doncello receives supplies and materials for an educational program in the framework of the Rural Youth Project

Florencia, Caquetá. April 20, 2023. Corporación Colombiana de Investigación Agropecuaria (AGROSAVIA) initiates the delivery of supplies, tools, and equipment. In this sense, all the necessary components to install an electric fence and calcareous inputs (limestone) to make amendments and improve the chemical conditions of the soil, among other elements, were delivered. These materials are associated with the productive pedagogical projects to be developed at Institución Educativa Puerto Manrique in the municipality of Doncello - Caquetá. This activity is framed within the project "Generate opportunities for the generational integration of rural youth in the countryside by improving training environments..." financed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

This work strengthens the training environments to manage the solid waste and forage production for animal feed of the productive pedagogical projects of this rural educational institution. This would imply transferring technological offers such as soil analyses, JJ 18 sorghum, and modular equipment for vermicomposting with agricultural residues that promote young people's interest in implementing alternative systems for animal production and preparing their own food within the food security context. In this sense, food could be produced intensively in small spaces, seeking the adoption of adequate methodologies in the nutritional and phytosanitary management of the productive systems with which they desire to work, mitigating the difficulties that arise in the region's agricultural sector characterized by low levels of competitiveness, productivity, inputs, and technologies.

The pedagogical projects with a productive approach to be implemented will support the development of relevant and innovative educational models that must be articulated with the Institutional Educational Project (PEI, for its acronym in Spanish) so that educators and students commit to their implementation. In this way, sustainability over time can be guaranteed. In the institutional context, these purposes and practices become components of the curriculum, namely, in programs and actions that are proposed to train students in developing essential and civic competencies.

In this context, AGROSAVIA seeks that the concurrence of education should also be a reference for a useful education for life, allowing the connection of the rural youth with the economic world and social relations in their localities and regions. An education that prepares them in general competencies for work, entrepreneurship, information management, and personal responsibility.
