Linkata Amazonas 2025 Meeting: Agricultural Extension in the Amazon

Linkata Amazonas 2025 Meeting: Agricultural Extension in the Amazon
  • The event brought together producers, extension agents, communities, institutions, and research centers in a space for dialogue and collective construction with a sustainable, innovative Amazonian agriculture approach adapted to the realities of the territory.

Leticia, Amazonas. August 14, 2025. This meeting, part of the national Linkata strategy to strengthen agricultural extension in Colombia, aimed at integrating local knowledge with technical and scientific expertise to identify challenges, prioritize actions, and establish commitments that strengthen the network of extension agents in the department.

The day included conferences, panel discussions, and the presentation of digital tools such as the Linkata, BAC, Siembra, and OCTIAGRO platforms, which support the National Agricultural Innovation System (SNIA, for its Spanish acronym). Participatory activities were also carried out, such as "The Extension Tree," where attendees jointly defined strategies to improve productivity and sustainability.

One of the highlights was the delivery of agricultural kits from the BAC Móvil program, which provides technical and scientific information to areas with low connectivity, strengthening the bridge between knowledge and rural communities.

The Linkata Amazonas 2025 Meeting was attended by representatives from the Departmental Secretariat for Agriculture, municipal governments, Agricultural Extension Service Providers (AESP), farmers' associations, ethnic communities, research centers, extension agents, and producers. The event was organized by DAI - Linkata team and AGROSAVIA's Florencia headquarters, with the support of the Amazonic Institute of Scientific Research - SINCHI.

"The Linkata Amazonas 2025 meeting has been an important space to learn about the work of entities related to the agricultural, forestry, and fisheries sectors, and to coordinate actions to improve production and the well-being of producers and rural communities, always within the framework of conserving local ecosystems," stated Oscar Eduardo Cely Agudelo, University Professional attached to the Secretariat of Agriculture, Environment, and Productivity of the Amazonas Governor's Office.

With these kinds of spaces, Amazonas reaffirms its commitment to building a strong, resilient, and connected countryside, where knowledge flows without barriers and in harmony with the region's natural richness.
