Second National Youth Congress in the Agricultural Sector: “We Sow Science, We Cultivate Innovation”

Yopal, Casanare. September 25, 2025. On October 28 and 29, 2025, the Second National Youth Congress in the Agricultural Sector will take place at Unisangil, Yopal campus. This gathering of realities seeks to strengthen young people’s capacities and promote their role as agents of change in rural development.

In its first edition, the congress brought together 178 young people from different regions of the country, achieving significant progress in associativity, knowledge transfer, and territorial innovation, as well as the establishment of the first support network for youth in the agricultural sector.

The event is organized by AGROSAVIA and sponsored by Fundación Luker, Fundación Aurelio Llano, Fundación Bancolombia, and ANDI, with the participation of the Government of Casanare, Universidad de los Andes, Universidad de La Salle, with its Utopía program, and Unisangil as the host institution.

Under the motto “We Sow Science, We Cultivate Innovation,” the congress will bring together more than 250 young people from different regions of the country, with a differential and inclusive approach. It will be a space for dialogue, knowledge and technology exchange, associativity, and generational renewal, contributing to the strengthening of the social fabric, inclusion, and innovation in the agricultural sector.

Over two days, participants will have access to spaces for specialized knowledge and associativity, practical workshops, project and entrepreneurship competitions, and activation activities. Topics will include sustainable agriculture, technological innovation in farming, communication for social change, food sovereignty, entrepreneurship and value chains, and youth leadership.

“We want to strengthen the capacities of young people, promote self-sustainability and self-management, so that we can provide tools to build a country through unity, inclusion, and respect. At AGROSAVIA, we are committed to the development of the agricultural sector by creating immersive and increasingly experiential spaces,” said Edson Manuel Peña, Advisor to the Directorate of Technology Offer (TO) and congress organizer.

The congress will also serve as a stage to recognize the talent of young people, highlight their contributions in various areas, and consolidate the support network for the youth in the agricultural sector.

Through this gathering, AGROSAVIA and its partners reaffirm their commitment to the sustainable development of the Colombian countryside and to building a future in which science and innovation are within the reach of young people.
