The Eligible Candidates’ List for the Doctoral Scholarships of Boyacá Alliance is now available

Tunja, Boyacá. February 18, 2026. The Interinstitutional Committee of the project “High-Level Human Capital Development for the Central Eastern Region – Strategic Alliance in the Department of Boyacá” has officially published the Eligible Candidates’ List for Call 35. This initiative is funded through the 2023–2024 General Royalties System resources and is aimed at strengthening high-level human capital within the region.

The Tunja Campus, ascribed to AGROSAVIA’s Tibaitatá Research Center, participates as a strategic partner in this project, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening scientific capacities and promoting doctoral education aligned with regional development needs.

High National Participation

The process demonstrated significant nationwide interest. As of January 16, more than 400 applicants had purchased the PIN and indicated their origin on the registration form, including regions such as Caquetá and Vichada. Nearly all differential approach categories were represented, with a majority participation of women and young applicants, as well as notable participation from candidates belonging to ethnic communities, particularly Indigenous groups.

As of January 26, more than 270 individuals applied to the doctoral programs offered by Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia and Universidad Santo Tomás, Tunja campus. At this stage, the doctoral programs assessed the quality and coherence of the thesis proposals, evaluating their alignment with the doctoral research lines, the robustness of the objectives, the proposed methodology, and the relevance of the expected outcomes.

Likewise, the Interinstitutional Committee evaluated the differential approach, the territorial relevance of the proposals in alignment with the challenges established in the call, and the motivation letters. In total, 221 proposals submitted by the doctoral programs were reviewed.

Differential Approach and Territorial Representation

The process fulfilled the requirement of allocating at least 51% of the slots to populations under a differential approach, achieving 100% compliance. Currently, all differential approach categories and all doctoral programs are represented by at least one eligible candidate. The category with the highest representation remains women, followed by young applicants.
