- With the planting of 208 native trees on its livestock properties, AGROSAVIA’s Tibaitatá Research Center actively participated in the national campaign “Colombia Plants Life,” an initiative that aims to plant half a million trees in one minute and strengthen alliances for the country’s sustainability.
Mosquera, Cundinamarca. November 4, 2025. AGROSAVIA’s Tibaitatá Research Center joined the major national campaign “Colombia Plants Life,” an initiative that brings together public and private institutions to plant half a million trees in a single minute. On this occasion, Tibaitatá contributed by planting 208 native trees, reaffirming its commitment to environmental conservation and ecosystem restoration in the western Bogotá savanna.
The preparation for the event was the result of collaborative work. Three days before the planting, members of the Armed Forces carried out the digging and preparation of the soil, while one day before, the Organizational Management Office of the Tibaitatá Research Center and the dairy cattle area organized the trees to ensure synchronized planting.
On the day of the event, October 24, fifty collaborators from Tibaitatá and AGROSAVIA’s headquarters joined members of the Colombian Air Force, successfully planting the trees in record time as a moving demonstration of environmental commitment.
“The campaign was a symbol of inter-institutional unity. The Armed Forces donated 87 garagay trees, also known as cajeto, and AGROSAVIA provided 500 kilograms of organic mineral fertilizer to support the military nurseries in La Calera,” explained Estefanía Rodríguez, Organizational Management Professional at the Tibaitatá Research Center.
Beyond this campaign, Tibaitatá’s environmental commitment remains active throughout the year. Through its Interdisciplinary Forestry Committee, comprising more than 20 collaborators from Tibaitatá and the headquarters, strategies for the sustainable management of soil, water, fauna, and flora are promoted.
“At Tibaitatá, we are Environmental People. Our purpose is to keep planting life. This year, we set ourselves to plant more than 600 trees, and we have already planted nearly 400. Our goal is to end the year meeting or surpassing that target,” concluded the professional.
