  • Over two days of competition, 27 specimens of the Romosinuano breed from the Turipaná Research Center of AGROSAVIA entered the ring.
  • 34 medals were awarded in this contest, along with wins in three important categories.
  • Jorge Mejía: The goal of this participation was to revive this competition, which had not been held for many decades, and, above all, to highlight our native breed.

Montería, Córdoba. June 20, 2025. We successfully concluded our participation in the First National Romosinuano Fair, held at the Miguel Villamil Fairgrounds in the city of Montería, as part of the 63rd edition of the National Livestock Fair. Over two days of competition, 27 Romosinuano specimens from the Turipaná Research Center of AGROSAVIA entered the ring to showcase and highlight the qualities of this breed. This participation yielded excellent results, with a good number of medals, including:

  • 14 first-place medals
  • 6 second-place medals
  • 6 third-place medals
  • 1 fifth-place medal
  • 7 champion medals

In addition, notable achievements were made in three important categories:

  • Grand Romosinuano Champion: The winner was the bull Turipaná 'El Jefe' 18191. Like the others, this is a bull with great volume, significant musculature, and masculinity, excellent racial characterization, and extraordinary structure.
  • Grand Romosinuano Champion Female: The winner was the cow Turipaná 'Perla' 15502. She was the female with the greatest volume in the competition, very feminine in all three sections, with excellent musculature and structure.
  • Reserve Grand Champion: This award went to Turipaná 'Yoichi' 22065, a bull with characteristics very similar to 'El Jefe'.

Additionally, we received recognition for Best Breeder and Best Exhibitor.

Finally, “The goal of this participation was to revive this competition, which had not been held for many decades, and, above all, to highlight our native breed. AGROSAVIA will continue to support these events to connect with other producers and continue working for the livestock sector in Córdoba”, said Jorge Armando Mejía Lúquez, support professional at the Turipaná Research Center.
