Description

It is a technical recommendation based on calculating the nutritional requirements of the Andean blackberry crop during all its phenological stages (vegetative, reproductive, and productive), establishing the key moments of fertilization within each stage. These estimated doses are applicable to both established and yet-to-be-established Andean blackberry crops, considering that, to standardize the nutrition of established crops, these must be previously subjected to production pruning so fertilization plans can be formulated as if they were four-month-old crops. The recommended doses correspond to nutrients (not to fertilizer sources). In addition, it is specified that these doses were calculated once the nutritional requirements of the Andean blackberry were known and must be adjusted based on the results of the soil analysis of each plot to be fertilized, previously making a nutrient balance (nutrient supply of the soil - requirement of the respective nutrient).

The recommendations' application allows increasing the crop's potential yield from 8 tons/hectare (national average) to 28 tons/hectare, reducing production costs by 10%, and also reducing the application of synthetic chemical fertilizers, which constitutes an environmental benefit.

This Technological Offer is recommended for the departments of Antioquia, Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda, Valle del Cauca, Santander, Norte de Santander, Boyacá, Cundinamarca, Huila, Nariño and Putumayo.
