Description

BACULOVIRUS CORPOICA® is a biopesticide for the control of the Central American potato tuberworm or Guatemalan potato moth (Tecia solanivora) and the moth Phthorimaea operculella in this crop under storage conditions (for seed or food potatoes). It is a healthier, cleaner, non-accumulative biological alternative that is respectful of the environment, as opposed to the chemical insecticides usually used for this insect pest.

BACULOVIRUS CORPOICA® is more than 80% effective and reduces potato storage losses due to the Guatemalan potato moth. Its formulation is a white dusting powder based on a native Granulovirus strain of Phthorimaea operculella (PhopGV). The minimum concentration is 0.05%, corresponding to 0.02 larval equivalents per gram of product.

The recommended dose is 2.5 kilograms of product per ton of potato tubers. It is applied by sprinkling potato tubers before the storage period begins, ensuring complete coverage of the tubers. Only one application is required. In addition, it does not affect the sprouting of the tubers in cases where they are used for seed.
