Description
The potato variety AGROSAVIA-MARY has an average production of 37 tons per hectare. It is early (precocious), and 40 % of its production are tubers in sizes zero and first, round and flattened in shape with dark pink skin, egg yolk-colored pulp, and reticulated skin texture (similar to dandruff flakes).
In this potato variety, the reducing sugars fluctuate between 0.06 and 0.26 mg/g of fresh weight and with an average of 0.16 mg/g of fresh weight, and have a percentage of dry matter of 22 % that make it suitable for the processing industry in chips, sticks or French fries. Additionally, it is characterized by having a stable tolerance to late blight or potato blight (Phytophthora infestans) and low percentages of incidence of bacterial wilt of potato (Ralstonia solanacearum) and powdery scab or scab (Spongospora subterranean). Therefore, it requires fewer applications of fungicides for blight control (7 to 9 applications) and promotes water savings during production.
