Description

The Dulce CORPOICA JJT-18 sorghum variety is a forage alternative for nutritional supplementation in rearing, fattening, and dual-purpose livestock production systems. It can be offered as green or dry feed and in silage mixed with other grasses or legumes to increase the protein level in animal diets.

This variety produces an average of 45 tons per hectare of green forage when harvested 90 days after sowing and 12.4 tons of dry forage per hectare. It has a regrowth capacity, reaching up to three cuts with good crop management. It is characterized by having high sugar content (11.7 Brix degrees), mainly sucrose and water, which favors fermentation in silage processes. Therefore, it does not require additives, providing energy such as fiber and sugars in cattle feed.

This offer is recommended for the departments of Bolívar, Cesar, Córdoba, Meta, Tolima and Huila.
