Description
The Corpoica Froilán bean is a bush bean variety with I-A growth habit, whose vegetative period ranges between 90 and 95 days. The radical type commercial grain is bright solid red with a semi-rounded shape, and the weight of 100 seeds at 14 % humidity is 55.8 grams. The average yield of this bean variety is 1.69 tons per hectare.
Corpoica Froilán adapts to areas with a medium climate, between 900 and 1,200 meters above sea level, in a temperature range between 18 and 24°C, with undulating relief and soils of moderate fertility, with high susceptibility to erosive processes. It is a variety that has high resistance to anthracnose (Colletotrichum lindemuthianum) and is tolerant to angular spot (Phaeoisariopsis polygoni), powdery mildew (Cercospora vanderysti), rust (Uromyces phaseoli), ascochuta (Ascochyta phaseolorum) and root rot (Fusarium sp., Pythium spp.).
