It is a free App that evaluates and improves bovine welfare in specialized dairy systems in the Colombian high tropics.
Más Bienestar addresses four topics: a) classification of farms according to their levels of animal welfare from one to five stars; b) recommendations for the improvement of the welfare situation of bovines found and the suggestion of action plans to increase productivity and competitiveness; c) training in bovine welfare; d) exchange of information between the users of Más Bienestar and AGROSAVIA for the improvement of the service and the tool. The evaluations are made on three farm components: animals, facilities, and management practices.
Alimentro
The tropical food information system for animal feeding (AlimenTro) is an open information system on food resources used in animal feeding in Colombia. It provides information on their nature, occurrence, chemical composition, and nutritional value.
The system's main objective is to provide information to different actors in the animal production sector in Colombia on the identity, characteristics, and adequate use of food resources available at the regional and local levels, contributing to the development and appropriate use of these resources in animal feeding systems.
