Description

This technology presents the essential management, hygiene, and safety principles that ensure the quality of hive products, such as honey and pollen, without neglecting the selection and genetic breeding of hives focused on higher production and quality assurance of the products obtained for human consumption, and protection of the environment and the beekeeper, to promote Colombian beekeeping positioning in new markets.

This technology is the result of identifying critical points throughout the production chain, such as apiary, harvesting, extraction, storage, and fractioning. GBPp contributes 100% to efficient production and quality-safety in beekeeping products and contributes to the degree of humidity in the honey not exceeding 20%; therefore, the product is not degraded or contaminated.

In accordance with the above, implementing this type of protocol ensures the beekeeper an adequate management process that guarantees traceability and implementation of the HACCP system throughout the production chain, as well as a possible certification of origin that generates added value in the future to their products. It is also essential to consider that this protocol requires little labor and dedication, allowing the producer to alternate with other agricultural activities easily.
