AGROSAVIA receives recognition from the Mayor's Office of Bogota for its commitment to gender equality

The Mayor's Office of Bogotá, through the District Secretariat for Women, highlighted AGROSAVIA's commitment to promoting an inclusive and equitable work environment that contributes to closing gender gaps at all levels of the Corporation.

This recognition was materialized through the delivery of the Gender Equality District Seal "En Igualdad" [On equal terms], a pioneering initiative in Colombia that facilitates collaboration between district institutions, the private sector, and higher education institutions, with the aim of developing joint strategies for the defense and promotion of the rights of all women.

Within the framework of this outstanding initiative, the Executive Director of AGROSAVIA, Dr. Jorge Mario Díaz, assumed a legitimate, political, and technical commitment to the women residents of Bogota. This commitment implies that the gender approach becomes a fundamental and constant element in decision-making within AGROSAVIA, intending to achieve a new social contract based on equality and inclusion for women. In addition, 24 people from AGROSAVIA participated in awareness workshops on a gender perspective, work without discrimination, gender and masculinities, gender-based violence, free-of-sexism organizational culture, and care economy. A self-diagnosis was also carried out to determine the commitment, implementation, and measurement level of this current year and 2025 in terms of gender mainstreaming, decision-making, stereotypes and violence, economic autonomy, and gender expertise.

For AGROSAVIA, this seal results from the commitment to move towards institutional management that guarantees the entire community's rights, particularly for women, who face numerous inequalities. This is achieved through mainstreaming the gender approach, balanced participation in decision-making, prevention and fight against stereotypes, promotion of access to the labor market, and the inclusion and promotion of sensitive work teams and gender experts. In this way, AGROSAVIA will continue with the implementation and measurement commitment to make progress in closing gender gaps and generating spaces of trust and security for the entire community.
